Choosing the Right Festool Sander / Polisher

Festool offers a fully integrated sanding solution for everything from aggressive stock removal to super fine, finish sanding. We offer numerous sanders, a complete line of abrasives ranging in grit from 24 to 4000, eight different types of abrasives, and many sanding pad options. All of this choice allows you to pick the perfect products to meet your specific application needs. Here is a brief overview of our sanders (& polishers) to help you select the right one to accomplish your tasks.

• Mainly large surfaces; mainly horizontal.
• Rotex RO 150    6" round, dual-mode sander for rapid removal (in gear-driven mode), finish sanding (random orbit mode), & polishing (gear-driven mode).
• Mainly small surfaces / hard-to-reach places; often vertical.
• Rotex RO 125   5" round, dual-mode sander for rapid removal (in gear-driven mode), finish sanding (random orbit mode), & polishing (gear-driven mode).

• Rotex RO 90 DX   3-1/2" round, dual-mode sander for rapid removal (in gear-driven mode), finish sanding (random orbit mode), & polishing (gear-driven mode). Also, convert to 93mm triangular pad for coarse sanding.

   

• RAS 115 (this tool has been discontinued)   4-1/2" round, high torque sander with rotary action. For quick stock removal, shaping, & stripping.

• Mainly large surfaces; mainly horizontal.
• ETS 150/3   6" round, random orbit sander with 1/8" (3mm) stroke for super-fine finish sanding.
• ETS 150/5   6" round, random orbit sander with 3/16" (5mm) stroke for intermediate & finish sanding.
• RS 2 (this tool has been discontinued)   1/2-sheet sander with a small 3/32" (2.5mm) stroke for exceptionally smooth & flat surfaces. Very good for maintaining crisp edges on narrow stock.

• Mainly small surfaces / hard-to-reach places; often vertical. Also, paint prep.
• ETS 125   5" round, random orbit sander with 5/64" (2mm) stroke for super-fine finish sanding.
• RTS 400   1/4-sheet, orbital sander with 5/64" (2mm) stroke for super-fine finish sanding.
• DTS 400   Delta-shaped, orbital sander with 5/64" (2mm) stroke for super-fine finish sanding.

• Mainly profiles and odd shapes.
• Duplex LS 130 (this tool has been discontinued)   Linear sanding featuring numerous interchangeable pads to utilize based on shape of material being sanded.

• Planex Drywall Sanders (view currently available Planex models)  8-1/2" round, drywall sander for walls & ceilings.

• Shinex RAP 150 (this tool has been discontinued)   6" round, rotary polisher for rapid elimination of surface defects & powerful buffing of high gloss surfaces.
